Grief, mortality and our own reasons for living.
The Little Rock native returns to let you know to keep going. For those who are here, for those who aren’t.
Faux returns with Real Bitches Don’t Die, where the rappers southern influences, specifically Houston are present, but with her own twist making for a great listen.
What makes Kari Faux so great on this album is the fact that although grief is a underlying theme of the album, you can kind of feel a contrast from song to song from a production standpoint. Which helps the album a ton when you think about the idea of emotions being volatile.
Faux paints a vivid picture of her time in the South, her loved ones and the comfort that they brought her. With features from various southern artists like KRIT, the late Gangsta Boo, and Devin the Dude, she makes talking about a tough topic seem very comfortable and normal.
Real Bitches Don’t Die is a great homage to the ones who are not here with us anymore while also being a great homage for southern rap.
